Sign the Referendum to Stop CarMax

Ordinance No. 916 was formally adopted by the Pleasant Hill City Council by unanimous vote on August 7, 2017, which approved the CarMax project. As Citizens of Pleasant Hill, we have 30 days from the date the ordinance was posted to gather at least 2100 signatures from Pleasant Hill registered voters to challenge the ordinance through the referendum process.

SIGNATURE GATHERING FOR THE REFERENDUM PETITION IS GOING ON NOW!

Four ways you can help
1. Donate funds to the signature gathering effort
Gathering signatures takes a lot effort and following government rules to certify that the collection happened legally and correctly requires a lot of financial resources.  Donate any amount you feel comfortable with to help us gather those signatures.  Every little bit is appreciated and helps in the effort.

>> Online donation is coming soon, but for now, please email us your info at alternatives2carmax@gmail.com with a pledge and someone will get in contact with you.
2. Help volunteer to gather signatures from registered voters
If you are a registered voter and you are at least 18 years of age, you are allowed to gather signatures for the referendum petition.  We are looking for volunteers to help gather 50-100 signatures each.  Thus, we will need 20+ volunteers in order to get the 2100 required signatures.  Come out and meet your neighbors and help with the effort.

3. Volunteer to support the cause.
Even if you are not a signature gatherer, there is a lot of logistics that goes into a referendum petition drive. We are looking for people to help with graphic design, marketing, fund raising, social media, and administrative support. Contact us at alternatives2carmax@gmail.com if you are interested in helping.
4. Sign the referendum petition.
Come with your friends, relatives, and neighbors to sign the referendum petition at one of the signature gathering events.  Or, many of our volunteers will be going door to door to help gather signatures.  Feel free to approach one of them to sign the referendum petition.
To sign the petition and meet your neighbors in person, please stop by Mountain Mike’s Pizza (30 Golf Club Road) where volunteers will be gathering signatures every day from 6 pm to 8 pm through Labor Day. You can also get more information on how to help gather signatures.
